Christmas Eve at the Oldson's

We finally made it to Mobile. Ron was sick all day on Sunday so we ended up leaving for Mobile on Monday. What a great time we had once we got there. It was nice seeing everyone and spending time catching up.

Little Visitors

What a great surprise, Yogi and Christy stopped to spend the night at our house while on their way to Mobile. Yogi has grown up so much and he enjoyed the Spider Man Lego set that Santa left at Aunt Marie and Uncle Ron's. We really enjoyed getting to spend time with them. I wished they lived closer so we could spend more time together. Ever time we see Yogi he begins to look at act more like his daddy! Christy is going to have her hands full in the upcoming years.

We spent this past weekend at Auburn for the big game. It was a blast, the game was cold but, well worth it. Auburn has won the past six games against Alabama.

Game Time

So it's finally here FOOTBALL SEASON!!! The weather will start getting cooler (I hope) , leaves are turning and it's time for college football. This is definelty my favorite season of the year. We watched the Auburn game on Saturday evening at Sam and Leslee's house. It as a close game but, in the end the Tigers pulled thru. A win is a win!!!

Mud Racing

We went to a Mud Racing event about a mile down the road from us on Sunday afternoon. Of course we had a great time and I got very dirty~~ I got to ride around the track a couple of times in the Southern Off Road Jeep it's white with NO doors. That is how I got so muddy. Then when the race was over the spectators got to take their vehichles on the track as long as a waiver was signed. So we took Ron's Yota there are some good pictures of us going thru the mud.

You can check out the website for Falcon Farms where the race was under my links. They have a race about once a month. The next one is August 19th just in case anyone wants to join us. We will cook out before the race begins.

Cave

~~Here are some pictures from our recent trip to Desoto Caverns. We went there last week while on vacation. This was my first trip there and it was fun! The cave was cold which felt good on a hot summer day. It was 60 degrees inside the cave with 100% humudity. It felt like Mobile in the fall.
Also, they turn out the lights while you are in the cave ~~ that was a little scary but, neat. You got to experience total darkness. You could'nt even see the hand in front of your face.

Past Week

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We took the week off and relaxed around the house. I have to say it was nice to sleep till 10ish everyday. I am posting some pics of our Pre-4th of July cookout. We just had a few people over to grill hamburgers and hotdogs. It was a hot day and it finally rained!!!!! Sorry if the pictures are not that great. I forgot about the camera till later in the evening and by that time well you know the story.........

The Dog Days of Summer

I don't know if we should be glad that summer is here or not. It has been so hot the past few weekends that most of MY time has been spent in the water getting very little work done!

This past weekend Ron spent it building a retaining wall behind the pool. I wasn't much help since the 6x6's were a little heavy.

Silly pups

It is extremly hard to get a picture of all 4 pups at once. Here is one that I was finally able to capture after many attempts. Check out Sophie, she is the small white brownbird dog and is sticking her tongue out at me-this is one of the many reasons why we call her "crackhead"!

Pool Construction 101

What a fun weekend we had at least I think to think that. I never knew there was so much work involved in this process. We were so busy getting ready to install the pool that I don't know where our long weekend went. We finally installed the liner and sides on Sunday and were able to start filling it with water on Monday. As of today the pool is finally full of water! Imagine our water bill this month! Here are some pictures from the site preperation party we had on Sat.

I'll post some pictures of the final result in the next couple of days.

Splish Splash ......

After many years of begging Ron for a pool he finally agreed to get one. We found one that is a 24*52 above ground. It will look nice with the color of our house. This weekend is the install date, just in case anyone is interested in helping.....
I'll keep everyone posted.

Congratulations to Rhonda and Jimmy
They were married on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at the Bragg Mitchell Mansion in Mobile, Alabama. What a gourgous day and wedding. We had a great time.

Almost Complete

We are about 80% complete with the barn! We now have lights. The next part of this project is the gravel, plants on the side, lean too (on the back side), and doors. I can't believe what a difference it has made and just to think about a month ago we were playing in the concrete that was being poured.

Boys and their toys

Many of yall have heard me talking about Ron's toy truck ~ The YOTA or Toyota. This is the 1984 4-runner that we drove to GA to pick up.

Since then he has added a new engine, lift kit, mud bogger tires, and many other things that I can't remember. I'll keep everyone updated on the progress of The Yota.

Sophie likes to ride in the back of my toy The Cub. We got this to replace my 4-wheeler. Maybe I want roll this thing over.

Working on the Barn

Up and down the ladder all day long~~ I guess we are getting our stepping class in.!

These pictures are from a couple of weekends ago but, we are still in the same process of putting the sidding up. You wouldn't believe how heavy this stuff is and all I can think right now is why did we not pay for someone else to tackle this?

What a Weekend!

It was a nice weekend so we of course we stayed outside the entire time. Only a couple of more weekends left before our barn project is complete at least I hope.

The barn floor was poured about a month ago now, we are putting the sidding up now.

Hopefully, we can take a break this weekend from all of the work. I'll add pics of all of the work we did this weekend tommorow.

Here is Spook our newest addition to the Lackey house. He is a black lab that wondered up on Halloween night. I was hopin he woudl wonder off or we could find his owner's but, I guess he wants to stay. The girls have really become attached to him.
